Cue - ipCue Alpha

The ever expanding range of Cue products have went through a number of changes within the last year. The ipCUEalpha is part of the excellent ipCUE range of ethernet IP enabled controllers.

This controller is well suited for single-room applications as well as huge multi-room and multi-floor distributed control applications.

The ipCUE-alpha comes with multiple control ports well suited for home applications as well as commercial. The control ports include two (2) bi-directional serial ports RS-232 and four (4) bi-directional serial ports configurableasRS-232, RS-422, or RS-485, eight (8) infrared outputs up to 1.2 MHz that can be configured to control up to twenty four (24) pieces of equipment, eight(8)general I/O ports that can also be configured as analog inputs, and two (2) 24 volts relay outputs. The Ethernet port allows for bi-directional IP control of any manufacturer IP enabled products.

Automated systems

What is automation ?  What are automated systems ??

These are the questions that we get asked most often. Quite simply, automation allows easier, centralised control of a group of equipment within a room, or indeed within a complete venue. This control can be achieved by pressing pre-defined buttons on a wall panel, or by touching the screen on a custom designed control interface.

The control interface can range from in-wall and table top touch panels, to touch controlled plasma or lcd screens for more multimedia type experiences. If you want a convenient, compact control device Simplicity AV can even design an interface that will run on a PDA!

What can an automated system do for me??

Within reason an automated system can control virtually any piece of equipment within your venue. From sound, lights and video, to blinds and heating, to CCTV and doors. One key benefit is that it leaves everything in your venue easy to control, plus a single button press can activate a predetermed sequence of events. For example, pressing the "on" button can turn on all of your lights on a predefined setting, play music throughout the building, and activate all of your TV's!

Automation is obviously a complicated subject, with a lot of different areas to cover. However, the end result needn't be complicated, indeed it should be Simplicity itself!
