July 2007 The Boogie Bus is one of Ireland's newest ways to take your party on the road. Based in Co. Armagh, the double decker party bus is fitted out with lounge seating, air conditioning and a plasma screen and is aimed as a serious party alternative to the normal limo. Simplicity AV were called to help complete the package that the company wanted to sell. The client's requirements were fairly straightforward - a disco sound and lighting system.... on a bus! |

This was quite an unusual project to take on, as there were serious limitations in regards to space and electrical power consumption. Although the bus has an onboard 5K generator, it also had to power a plasma screen and associated playback equipment, along with various fridges and air conditioning units. Therefore recessed low power recessed LED lighting was used - a total of 16 LED heads were installed, which left ample power in reserve for the sound system. The sound system consisted of 4 surface mounted compact speaker enclosures, and two high sub woofers that were hide under the lounge seating. All in all, proprietor Liam Campbell is very happy with the system, and it has definitely proved a hit with all of his customers to date. The Bar was kitted out with a major sound system - a high level system for the immediate dance area, and a discreet compact system for the rest of the bar which would still offer fairly high level when required at the weekend. The dance floor system was fitted with 4 DAP Audio X10 high level enclosures and 2 hidden DAP Pro X18B sub bass enclosures, which provided a high quality dance level sound without clashing with the decor too much. The remaining areas within the bar were fitted with 12 DAP MI-150 compact enclosures, while these are very compact they provide a clear, evenly distributed high quality sound throughout the venue - these are complemented by three hidden MI-152B sub bass enclosures to add a nice low end to the sound system. Finally, there a two water proof speaker enclosures in the beer garden so that the customers can still enjoy the sound system when outside. The sound system is controlled by a Cloud Z8 zone mixer, which allows for five independent sound areas which can all be locally controlled behind the respective bars. Finally the system is powered by seven power amplifiers. The add to the atmosphere there was also various LED lighting fixtures and scanners installed. March 2007 Holy Trinity Nursery School have recently added a new sound system to their complete building. They contacted Simplicity AV looking for a high quality, but discreet, sound system that would allow them to play music throughout the school. In addition to this, they also had the requirement that music could also be played in the playground area, and that each separate area had individual source and volume control. |

As the requirement did not call for high music level, 6 DAP Audio PR-52 compact speaker enclosures were used - two in each of the classrooms and one each in the corridor and the playground. These 6 speakers were powered by two DAP Audio "Cesium 300" power amplifiers and controlled by a DAP Audio "Zone Control" zone mixer. The combination of the powerful Cesium amplifiers and the comprehensive zone mixer allowed for great headroom and sound quality, plus fully independent control of all of the areas at a very competitive price. September 2006 River Side Studio fitness club in Cookstown has recently added a DAP Audio "Max Range" system to their main training hall. Proprietor Judith Harkness came to Simplicity AV in despair as their current system was not capable of providing the level of sound that they required, and also was repeatedly breaking down. |

Their requirement was simple, they wanted reasonably loud foreground music for their fitness classes without using a large obtrusive sound system. The compact "Max Range" system fulfilled the criteria exactly. Four compact MI-150's were used, along with one MI-152B sub woofer. This was all powered with a P-1600 power amplifier, and controlled with a Pubmix 2 mixer. The club are delighted with their new sound system, and proprietor Judith reckons that the improved atmosphere may attract new members to the club! |
